"DoD means a lot to me. Most importantly it is an opportunity to bring about the change I hope to see in the younger generation. I see it as a way of bridging the gap. A gap left probably because parents and teachers assume the other is taking responsibility of educating young girls on matters of sexual health which, usually, leaves the girls uninformed and, even more often, misinformed. DoD to me means I get to use my past experiences, including some grave mistakes, to educate young girls so that they lead better lives, mentoring them into ladies of high standing in the society."
-Makena Murithi Medical Student from NAIROBI, KENYA "Thank you so much! I really learned a lot and I will apply everything to my day-to-day life."
- DoD Summit Participant, PHILADELPHIA, USA "I enjoyed the workshops, being able to identify with other girls who relate to the same things as me."
- DoD Summit Participant, PHILADELPHIA, USA "Everything was good!"

DoD Summit Participant at the Closing Ceremony:
"DoD is an inspiration to me; to know that we as women are concerned about a fellow sister somewhere who may be in need of a word of encouragement or advice concerning certain issues. It is a good course and worth taking part in; we do not have the same opportunities in life but being able to share some of the knowledge with someone in need is a wonderful experience."
- Harriet O. Moraa Medical Student from NAIROBI, KENYA "Through DoD, we educate the girls not only on what they should know, but also on what we wanted to know then, but never got the chance."
